And we're back...a little belated but just in time to give you the final candidate low-down before we venture into debate territory. Welcome Smartt Takes newbies & alumni! Smartt Takes is here to break down the 2020 election for you, and separate the facts from the fiction. We're now at 24 "viable" candidates, but only 20 qualified to be on the debate stage next week. Don't worry, we'll be back again after debate night 2 to break down all the crazy. Speaking of debates... the DNC randomly split the candidates over both nights, so that means you won't get that Elizabeth Warren vs. Bernie Sanders vs. Joe Biden vs. Beto O' Rourke faceoff... just the Warren vs. O'Rourke and Sanders vs. Biden. Have to winnow down the field first, and the new DNC rules for debate 3 look to do just that.  Alright, let's get to it.
