Israel purportedly has plans to strike Iran
Three days after allowing ten trucks of food into Gaza, Israel now has plans to strike Iran’s nuclear supply — a stark departure from the U.S., which is trying to negotiate a deal with Iran. This also comes after the UK, France, and Canada put out a joint statement yesterday decrying Israel’s actions and warning of “concrete steps” if humanitarian access doesn’t improve.
South African President visits the White House and it goes about as well as it did with Ukrainian President Zelenskyy.
It’s supposed to be a trade meeting, but, just like Grok last week, it’s a meeting centered around white genocide. Something the South African president vehemently denies, but alas, Trump made him watch a political protest video anyway — featuring South Africans chanting “Kill the Boer,” used historically against farmers.
South African courts have ruled the chant symbolic, not a literal call to violence, though that hasn’t stopped it from sparking backlash.
Trump excoriated the press for asking questions like, “why only South African white farmers, and no other refugees?” He also reportedly threatened to investigate ABC/NBC.
Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-VA) passed away today, after losing a fight to esophageal cancer. Connolly had defeated AOC to clinch the minority gavel for the House Oversight Committee but stepped down last month after being diagnosed. Rest in peace, sir.
Court rules Trump violated court order by deporting non–South Sudanese migrants to South Sudan.
The ruling came from the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts, and is the second time a federal judge has ruled Trump violated a court order/threatened criminal contempt. (Remember Boasberg?)
Unclear what happens now since, again, the president has complete immunity. Vamos a ver.
Republicans still in markup, still planning vote tonight
Except apparently the delta between the party hardliners and moderates is larger than ever. Speaker of the House Mike Johnson (R-LA) and key members of the House Freedom Caucus headed to the White House this afternoon to get a talking-to by Father President Trump. If all goes well, then they are planning on a vote tonight, calling the bill “too beautiful” and “too big to fail.” Though Wall Street may disagree. Hmm.
Hopefully the vote is at a normal hour at least.
Alright, that’s it from me! Short and sweet, just like Trump’s instructions on Medicaid.
Be back tomorrow bc, at the very least, we have a lot of astrology to cover mes amis!!
Chau chau!
